Fostering practice
Disclosures
This is a short course designed to cover the procedure when a disclosure is made. Disclosure is when a child or young person tells you about abuse that they have suffered or are currently suffering.
What you will learn
- What disclosure is.
- How to create an environment a child feels comfortable talking in.
- How to react if a child shares about abuse or trauma with you.
- What to do once a disclosure is made.
How the course works
The course is broken into manageable online units and includes knowledge checks or quizzes where appropriate. Progress saves automatically, so learners can pause and return on any device.
A certificate is available when all required course elements are completed successfully.
Who it is for
Foster carers, support carers and fostering-service staff who need practical, up-to-date learning in this topic.
